Cortacabezas

In 2005, the President of Colombia received a letter from the Association of Indigenous Councils of the Amazon Trapezium to take charge of investigating strange events in their territory.
They indicated that for years fishermen of the region felt persecuted by a foreign presence that using technology was lurking in the jungle to decapitate them and steal their organs. They call it Cortacabezas.
Filmmaker and artist, his work explores the intersections between experimental cinema, expanded cinema, archives, contemporary art, propaganda, mosquitoes, aliens, the space race, and the incidences of these intersections in the construction of contemporary narratives and politics. My works have been presented at festivals and exhibitions such as Docs Buenos Aires, MIDBO Bogotá International Documentary Festival, EMAF European Media Arts Festival, among others. Co-founder and co-director of the Laboratory of Experimental Cinema and Expanded Theater La Vulcanizadora. His film El Renacer del Carare received a Special Mention of the Flash Competition in the 31st FIDMarseille 2020.
